A little water and a different Mass 10/13

Before I get on with the little water I must share with you what happened last night. I was hoping to go to mass at this church

But when I went at the appointed time (as posted on the door) 6pm. There was no one there. I waited with some others and sure enough along cam a man who identified himself as a priest. But after some time, we determined he was not a priest in the town but from Brazil! Interestingly enough at the same time he arrived, about 15 other people arrived. Eventually we figured out that this was a priest who was part of a tour from his parish somewhere in Brazil. So, since we couldn’t do mass in the old church, well, we did it in the breakfast room at their hotel

So after mass - in Portuguese by the way - I had a really fine pilgrim dinner at our Restaurant. Perfectly grilled salmon, marvelous cabbage soup, ice cream and wine for 10€. 

This morning the forecast was for rain and sure enough it was pouring as I stepped out the door. Very intimidating, I must say😬. But there is nowhere to go but onward. You are not allowed to stay in the Albergues any more than 1 night at a time. So there are no pictures of the sunrise today. I did manage to miss a turn in the dark, rain (my glasses were fogged up and spattered and my headlamp was only illuminating my feet. So I put in an extra km before I checked my phone app and could see my mistake. Note to self: do not walk anymore before dawn.

So this is the best I could do this morning. It was raining btw but beautiful 

These we a few folks I saw along the way. A couple of beautiful calves and (cows) one of the grownups got a bit protective which is why I don’t have the face of the second calf).They were so precious and fresh looking. Just like babies.

Made it here, got my bed, 2 glasses of vino blanco. Hasta Manana - more rain in the forecast.
