15 miles today!i

Now a total of 52!  Last night when I arrived at Zubiri there was no place at any inn. So I, along with 2 French girls enlisted the help of the first Hospitalero we met - Juan. He told us town was full. I asked what our alternatives were and along about that time William came along. Did I mention that William, a Cuban from Florida, speaks 4 languages? In any event we ended up taking a taxi to Zabaldika about 5 miles ahead where Juan said there were beds.

What an awesome twist of fate this was. Turned out the Albergue was in a church!

Church of Saint Stephen
After a fine country dinner we went to the church and sat in the choir loft and had a really meaningful and special benediction presented by the Sisters. Then to bed.

So this morning we took the taxi (Pedro’s) back to Zubiri where at 8:30 we embarked on our day's walk. These are my walking buddies, William and Frechie Louise:

Here are some shots of the scenery and towns I walked through today. Such a beautiful and pastoral country Spain is ❤️

Even here there is strife and separation between the people and their government.
Can you see where the description Basque Country has been written over to say Spain? The flag also?

I was walking with William and we arrived in Pamplona at about 2:30 pm.  Here I am at the gate of the ancient city:
