Walking for 6 days now.....

I left Albergue San Andres at 8 am this morning after a quick cafe americano (num num, good and black), yogurt that was totally white and chalky - you add sugar to give it some taste - and a granola bar.

The night was interesting. Our room had 5 bunk beds and when we turned off the lights there were  7 of us. About 1/2 hour later the door opened and there were 3 other prospective inhabitants. I don’t know how they did it but somehow they all managed to get bunked down. The room was hot and thick with moisture from everyone’s breathing.

One of my roommates was Monica.  Monica’s is traveling with her son Iliad. If I remember correctly she is from Romania. Such a cheerful and wonderful person. Her daughter is a dentist in New Jersey and is pregnant and due to deliver right after Monica’s Camino is over and she will fly there to be with her.

I digress, after a 2 km climb I reached the Alta de Perdon where we found the amazing metal sculpture depicting pilgrims.

The climb view

I arrived after just short of 20 km walking, at a Town named Maneru. The end of that walk was a total bitch! Imagine a 70 degree angle road and you pretty much got the picture😫.  At 2:30 pm. I checked into this awesome Albergue and made some new friends. After showers and laundry we celebrated with a cerveza.

Kevin (US), Lucia (Czech Republic), Sinead (Irish)

Here are some more pictures from my walk today:
