Rainy Rest Day

I only hiked 12 Kms today. I did really not feel up to another climb or a battle for a bed with so many people on this route. I am praying that things thin out this week and I don’t have to be so concerned. Also, it rained today. I got a chance to try out my big ass poncho and although it kept me and my backpack dry it was like hiking in a sweat tent 😜. Oh and they are not easy putting on by the way. I had to ask for help because my arms just weren’t long enough. Next time I’ll take the pack cover and rain gear. At least that’s the way I feel now.

I stopped at Zariquiegui (so many “Z” towns in Spain) and was there when they opened the doors at the Albergue Saint Andres. 12.50 for the night (€). A smaller Albergue than in the past. I’m in the bottom bunk again. Been lucky so far.

Set my stuff, took a shower and a quick turn around this tiny town in the rain.

Here are some photos from this day - Martes Sept 10, 2019.

Pilgrim meal in Pamplona last night.

Bridge leaving Pamplona (see, it's fall here too)

Along my rainy walk today

The Church. There’s always a church. Zoom in on those bells if you can

Tomorrow onto the summit!
